Arizona Riding Holiday for the Disabled

This family run ranch is dedicated to providing the best guest ranch holiday for you. The ranch is based just outside Las Vegas providing access to a variety of attractions close by such as the Grand Canyon, the famous ghost town of Oatman and Lake Havasu. The ranch offers a variety of riding programs from slow scenic rides to more challenging mountain rides. Guests can have the choice of riding or just enjoy the activities available at the ranch. Our set departure dates are designed for disabled riders but the ranch is open for most of the year for you to stay at for as long or short as you like. Let us know what you would like to organise. You may want to look at Fly Drive so you have flexibility to do your own thing. There are some excellent golf courses nearby.
The ranch offers a completely barrier-free holiday to all disabled travellers and their families and carers. The uniqueness of this ranch is that it is completely handicapped accessible both inside and out. All guest rooms, bathrooms, lodge and dining areas were built with the disabled concerns in mind. The guest rooms and bathrooms are larger than the current accessibility codes call for and the lodge and dining room have plenty of room for wheelchairs to move about freely. Riding accessible equipment is provided so that everyone has the ability to participate in the riding program. Disabled guests can choose to experience a ride in the desert or a ride in the arena depending on ability. All riders will be tested thoroughly before riding to assure safety. The swimming pool and hot-tub was also built with wheelchair accessibility in mind.
The ranch is designed so that the accessibility will be subtle, not obvious. There is a special riding arena for novice riders and any disabled rider who cannot ride on his/her own on the trails. There is a ramp for wheelchairs so that mounting a horse will be almost as easy as getting in a car. The wranglers and horses are well-trained and have a warm and caring disposition so that each riding experience will be an enjoyable one. If a rider is not capable of going on the trails, he/she will still have a riding experience they will long remember. They will be allowed to go around the arena in a well supervised environment for extended periods of time-until they get tired of it or an hour is up-which ever comes first!
Testimonials
"I can’t praise this holiday enough, it was magic. For any former riders out there who can’t ride now because of mobility problems this place was perfect and if you can ride it’s just as great." Gwen & Paul Kitching March 2009
"Riding is tailored to the client needs, and I had some incredible rides. 1 - 1.5hrs each ride, one morning and one afternoon. (My horse who I had all week is called Wrangler!) - he is a Missouri Foxtrotter with an interesting range of gaits including pacing. His lope is very comfortable, I am sure that his trot/pace would be comfortable if he would decide what he was going to do not chop and change! There is no pressure to ride, so if people decide they dont want to - no problem." Dot Johnson
"I had a fantastic trip, the ranch is really lovely. Totaly accessible, and so friendly." Ann Cousin, November 2007
